It’s time to look at my “Lizard” project again. Have to fine-tune some pages and refine some artwork.
Right now I’m re-doing most of page 26. It was not strong enough.

Lizard – final page
Final page of the “Lizard” don and over. Now it is going to lay hidden away for a month.
I will return to it, look it through and make some minor changes to it, when I have got it all out of my system and can look at it with fresh eyes again.

Lizard – page 60 – Acting on paper
This page is the first in a series of very challenging pages. No big action, no frames, only me trying to act out feelings on paper.
This is a scene of memory’s, and therefore no frames. If I had frames to work with I could rely on showing one state of emotion after the other, without worrying too much about readability. But with no frames I have to act out the scene in a flowing motion. Or that was at least my hopes.
I love this kind of challenge. Because for me at least, it is the most difficult. Drawing emotions is a lot of small hints, movement and expressions, put together to form an overall feeling of emotions. It is the small things that count.
I Think it’s hard to do, and I love it. It’s what fascinates me with people, and those very talented artists who masters it. Need I mention any names? Ok I will. Will Eisner, Craig Thomson, Prado and Dave McKean is just some of the really good ones in my opinion.

Slowly but steady I’m getting closer and closer to the end of my “Lizard”-project. Right now I’m sitting behind my drawing-board and working on the page 54-55 spread.
Almost 25 pages to go now.
Lizard page 40 – half way there
Finaly half way through the Lizard comic project. Now it’s running downhill, till the finishline this summer.

Another memory scene without frames. For the next spread, I’m going to try to make a frameless layout connected across the whole spread, without losing the reading-order. I’m really looking forward to that.
Maybe later I will upload a teaser of that to.
